Hybrid technology that couples the proven disease control of Heritage™ fungicide with a boost of acibenzolar-s-methyl (ASM) to help plants better manage biotic and abiotic stress.
ASM is recognized by the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) to have Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) effects.
Three criteria to qualify Heritage Action as a SAR compound
Plants work to protect themselves from pathogens all the time. ASM boosts the plant's natural defense mechanism at a higher intensity and more consistently, which helps the plant better protect itself.
ASM helps reduce Pythium blight, which demonstrates the length of control provided by the SAR effect.
To qualify as a SAR compound, the product must not show any direct activity on the pest. ASM helps boost the plant's natural defenses to control diseases.
The two petri dishes above contain the dollar spot pathogen. There is no difference in fungal growth in treated versus non-treated petri dishes, which means ASM has no direct control of a pathogen.
Biochemical processes induced by ASM should be the same as the natural plant processes.
Heritage is translaminar and has more systemic movement through the leaf and roots than competitive strobilurins, which provides superior disease control.
Heritage shows significant movement upward in the roots versus no systemic movement with other QoIs.
ATP-synthase: essential for energy production
Dehydrin: an important dehydration-protective protein
HSP-20: stress-induced protein that maintains protein activity. Highly correlated with heat tolerance.
PR-3: a chitinase protein involved in pathogen defense.
Rubisco: one of the key enzymes for photosynthesis, which is often degraded during stress events

This trial shows that turf treated with Heritage Action recovers better after stress from aeration.
Stomata are pores found in plant leaves and stems that act as a gateway to control gas exchange, including water vapor.
Support transpiration to supply water and minerals throughout the entire plant system.
ASM is only compound found to beneficially affect stomatal regulation, which maximizes water retention in drought conditions.
Fungicide treatments were applied 16 days and two days prior to initiation of drought stress.
When compared with Insignia® SC Intrinsic® brand fungicide, turf treated with Heritage Action fungicide showed better drought tolerance.
Photos taken three days after drought. Fungicide treatments were applied both 16 days and two days prior to initiations of drought stress.
Photos taken six days after drought. Treatments were applied 16 and 2 days prior to initiation of drought stress.
When used together in an agronomic program, Heritage Action and Daconil Action™ fungicides offer:
In a summer trial, Daconil Action was tested with a variety of fungicides to measure anthracnose control and summer turf quality. Daconil Action and Heritage Action yielded the best results with very low disease pressure and a turf quality rating greater than 8.5.
Under severe and repeated water deficits, ASM improved bermudagrass. Bermudagrass was taken through 3 drought cycles.
ASM applied on a 14 day interval.
