In 2012, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) updated its Hazard Communication Standard to conform to the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). With the changes to this standard, OSHA worked to simplify internal communication, improve knowledge of workplace hazards and create safer environments for anyone handling hazardous materials.

Accessing Safety Information from Syngenta
Search for Syngenta SDSs and product labels by product name, market group, and/or product type on our Label Search.
In case of an emergency, contact the Syngenta Crop Protection Emergency hotline at 1-800-888-8372 for immediate, 24/7 assistance. Toxicologists, veterinarians and other experts are available to provide detailed advice. Customer Service contact information is located on SDSs and product labels for your reference.

As of June 1, 2015, Syngenta is OSHA compliant and has converted all of the Syngenta Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to SDS Sheets. Syngenta SDS labels in the Turf, Ornamental & Professional Pest Management markets can be found on GreenCastOnline.com on our
Label Search Page. In addition, Syngenta will continue distributing SDS sheets to our channel partners using the same system we have used in the past. SDS sheets will also be mailed upon request. When new information is added or changed on SDSs, updated versions are mailed to distributers who have placed orders for those products during the previous two years.
SDSs are designed primarily as a tool for manufacturers and first responders since they include prescriptive details about storage, exposure and information for handling emergencies not typically seen by end users. SDSs include a 16-section format with specific and consistent hazard language, pictograms and standard precautionary language.
End users such as golf course superintendents, lawn care operators, other turf professionals and greenhouse & nursery growers can rely on product labels for necessary information about safe handling on a day to day basis. The SDS serves as an additional resource in the event of emergencies. Syngenta end-use customers should keep all employees informed about the new format and keep a copy of the SDS for each product on site as required.
As a safety precaution, employees need to be aware of how an SDS can help with safe handling of products and proper actions to take in case of an emergency such as a spill or accidental exposure.
