Friday Night Lights: Drop some seed

With high school football games kicking off this weekend (Labor Day), this is a good time to drop perennial ryegrass seed in anticipation of traffic injured areas.  Although still relatively hot through the Midwest the placement of seed at this time will help speed recovery after games.  In some situations and if money is available the use of seed treated ryegrass would be an advantage (Pythium seedling control).   Rule of thumb is to try to get good seed/soil contact when overseeding.
